Bread Upma Recipe is a quick and simple breakfast dish .This recipe is a great way to use any kind of excess bread lying in refrigerator. It tastes almost similar as Rawa(semolina) Upma. Bread Upma takes very less time and tastes really good.
Ingredients:
Any bread slices of your choice
Oil - 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Chana dal - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - few
Onion - 1 large (roughly chopped)
Green chillies - 4 or according to taste (roughly chopped)
Finely chopped ginger - 1 inch piece
Tomatoes - 2 medium (roughly chopped)
Salt to taste
Red chilli powder - according to taste
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Lemon juice - 1 tsp
Coriander leaves - few for garnish

Method of prepartion:
- Cut the sides of the bread & cut them into small pieces. Keep them aside
- Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, chana dal, urad dal after it starts spluttering add curry leaves
- Add chopped ginger, onions & green chillies saute
- Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder & salt to taste
- Now add chopped tomatoes, mix well & cook till tomatoes become soft
- Add water as required to it & mix well. cook it till it comes to boil
- Add bread pieces & lemon juice to this, stir well & cook it.
- Garnish with coriander leaves & serve hot.
